What is WB Primary TET?
WB Primary TET stands for West Bengal Primary Teacher's Eligibility Test. It is conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) for the recruitment of Classes 1 to 8 teachers in the schools of West Bengal. The WB Primary TET exam is conducted at two levels- Paper 1 (for Primary Classes 1-5) and Paper 2 (for Upper Primary Classes 6-8). Candidates who wish to be teachers of Classes 1-8 can qualify both papers.
What is Eligibility Criteria?
The WB Primary TET notification 2022 will be released in the month of June 2022. The West Bengal Primary Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) Examination 2022 is going to be organised on 11th December 2022. The W.B. TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) online registration process has been started on 14th October 2022. As per the latest notification, the details regarding the WB TET Examination are as follows:
WBTET Eligibility Criteria 2022 for Paper 1: Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5)
The applicants must fulfil the following minimum eligibility conditions as prescribed by NCTE from time to time to be eligible to appear for the WB TET exam:
· Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and 2-year diploma in Elementary Education (DEIEd)
Or
· Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEIEd)
Or
· Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks and having Diploma in Education (Special Education), recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)
Or
· Graduation and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (DEIEd)
Note: 5% relaxation of marks in Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or its equivalent examination 10+2 (ie 45%) will be allowed for the SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PH, Exempted Category, ex-serviceman and DH (Death-in-harness) category candidates.
WBTET Eligibility Criteria 2022 for Paper 2: Upper Primary Teachers (Class 6 to 8)
Candidates are eligible to appear for the WB TET exam if they have:
· Cleared their BSc/BA or equivalent education
· Cleared their BEd/Secondary education exam with minimum of 50% marks
· Qualified the final four years of Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEIEd)
· Appearing in final two years BSc/ BA/ Diploma in Education and clear the exam with at least 45% marks
The entire test will be based on Multiple Choice Questions, MCQs (each carrying 1(one) mark) with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct as per the following distribution —
